THE NEW YORK STATE BAR ASSOCIATION HAS BEEN CERTIFIED BY THE NEW YORK STATE CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION BOARD AS AN ACCREDITED PROVIDER OF CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK

New York attorneys admitted after October 1, 1997, are required to complete 32 credit hours during the first two years after admission (16 hours each year):   3 credit hours in ethics, 6 credit hours in skills and 7 credit hours in practice management and/or professional practice.  New York attorneys in practice beyond the first two years after admission must earn 24 credit hours per two-year biennial registration cycle with at least 4 of these credit hours in the area of ethics and professionalism

IMPORTANT NOTICE—PARTIAL CREDIT FOR PROGRAM SEGMENTS NOT ALLOWED:

In the fall of 2001, the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board revised its Regulations and Guidelines.   Under those revisions, attendees at CLE programs cannot get MCLE credit for a program segment (typically, a lecture or panel, of which there are usually several in a program) unless they are present for the entire segment.  Therefore, persons who arrive late, depart early, or are absent for any portion of the segment, will not receive credit for that segment.

Although designed as a follow-up to our original Bridge-the-Gap I program, this course can also be used to satisfy first year credit requirements. The agenda includes presentations on civil court practice; effective cross-examination techniques; negotiation skills; legal writing and ethical issues for newly admitted attorneys. In addition, attendees will be able to choose two breakout workshops in areas of substantive law.
