$2.7M Verdict Against Staten Island Plastic Surgeon For Negligent Carpal Tunnel Release Surgery
On June 30, 2022, a Staten Island jury awarded $2,716,600 to a patient of a local plastic surgeon. The theory of plaintiff's case was the careless performance of an endoscopic carpal tunnel release that required multiple additional surgeries to address a median nerve injury. It was also claimed that the plastic surgeon failed to recognize the the complications of his surgery, failed to properly evaluate the patient's post-surgical condition and failed to refer him to the appropriate specialists.
