New York State Lengthens Deadline to Sue for Toxic Injuries From Pollution at Superfund Sites
On July 21, 2016 Governor Cuomo signed legislation allowing lawsuits to be filed for injuries due to pollution at superfund sites--not merely within 3 years of the exposure or injury--but within 3 years of of the date a site is designated as a superfund site.
The new law is codified in CPLR Section 214-f. Contact a personal injury attorney if you have been exposed to harmful pollutants at any hazardous waste disposal site. You may still have time to file a suit even if you were exposed to harmful pollutants and chemicals decades ago.
