Newsday Reports 3 Women on Long Island Suing Same Brain Surgeon
On October 31, 2016 Newsday reported that: "According to three lawsuits, Dr. Paolo Bolognese, Director of the Chiari Malformations Center at Neurological Surgery, botched surgeries to fix Chiari malformation, a rare, usually congenital brain defect....The lawsuits say the patients ended up worse after procedures performed by Dr. Paolo Bolognese to fix Chiari malformations." As of this summer, according to Newsday, Dr. Bolognese is no longer affiliated with North Shore-Long Island Jewish Medical Center--having been temporarily suspended by North Shore University Hospital in 2009 "for not operating on an anesthetized patient awaiting brain surgery."
