Texas Neurosurgeon Sentenced to Life in Prison For Malpractice
In an extraordinary, unheard of fate, a grossly negligent Texas neurosurgeon who caused terrible injuries to multiple patients, was successfully prosecuted and a jury found him guilty of a first degree felony. According to an AP report yesterday, Dr. Christopher Duntsch had numerous cases of malpractice involving: bothched spine surgery, severing a major vein, causing two patients to die and causing an unnecessary amputation of another patient's leg.
The jury rejected the doctor's defense that he was simply a lousy surgeon and imposed a life sentence as punishment.
